Mr. Wong Mun Kin, aged 52,
was a single father who single-handedly raised his 16-year-old son.
During his lifetime,
he worked as a CCTV installation technician,
relying on his own hands to provide for his child and support their household.
On the morning of the Winter Solstice last year,
his son woke up to find his father missing from the bedside.
Moments later,
he discovered his father collapsed in the bathroom due to a stroke.
From that instant,
an ordinary day became the turning point that changed their lives forever.
Mr. Wong was rushed to the emergency unit,
where he battled for his life for 35 days.
Due to impaired swallowing function,
saliva and food could easily enter his lungs.
At one point, he relied entirely on life-support machines to survive.
Although his condition later showed slight improvement and he required only intubation,
the family believed he might be discharged before the New Year,
hoping for a reunion.
Tragically, just as hope seemed within reach,fate took another cruel turn.
Mr. Wong Mun Kin suddenly developed severe pneumonia and passed away shortly thereafter.
The prolonged emergency treatment had already exhausted all of the family’s financial resources.
Today, what remains is a 16-year-old child, left behind without his father.
The family had exhausted every possible means to settle the medical expenses during treatment,
leaving them financially depleted and unable to afford Mr. Wong Mun Kin’s funeral arrangements.
